Tires

Continuous Inkjet

Marking is used for two main purposes in tire production: to identify extruded layers of rubber for tracking within the manufacturing process (extrusion rubber coding) and to mark the walls of finished tires per OEM specifications (high point printing). Videojet CIJ printers produce high-contrast print without touching the tires, helping to avoid potential damage. Our patented anti-clog CleanFlow® printheads are designed for reduced maintenance frequency and code consistency even in hot, dusty environments, making them an ideal solution for the rigors of tire manufacturing.

Laser Marking

Fiber laser marking is an ideal solution for many powertrain applications where complex, permanent codes are required to be marked directly onto parts at high speed. Videojet fiber lasers are specifically engineered for marking on high-density plastics, aluminum, and stainless steel. This is especially important in situations where a part specification requires DataMatrix codes and/or human-readable information that needs to be delivered in a durable format designed to last throughout the lifetime of a vehicle.

Continuous Inkjet

Videojet CIJ printers produce superior resolution text and graphics, including ink options that are fast-dry, heat and oil-resistant, making them an ideal solution for printing on nearly any engine or powertrain substrate. CIJ technology can be a great solution for applications where structural integrity is a concern or where removable codes are desired, as ink is printed only on the surface of the part.

Videojet CIJ printers can print superior resolution, durable codes on nearly any substrate, which can be important for manufacturers producing multiple types components from different materials. Our 1000 Line CIJ printers are designed for extended run time, with CleanFlow® printheads that reduce ink build up to help maintain print quality with reduced maintenance. Solvent and chemical-resistant inks can withstand abrasion and many solvents to help ensure remain legible in automotive operating environments.

Laser Marking

Videojet laser technology is virtually maintenance-free, resulting in greater uptime and providing consistent marking. We offer a range of laser options designed for maximum performance across many plastic and metal substrates. Additionally, Videojet simplifies manufacturing cell and production line integration with its comprehensive portfolio of laser accessories, including lenses and beam turning units to maximize laser performance and ease of use.

Visual definition is essential for codes and markings on interior parts to enable legibility and traceability, especially when many of these parts are dark in color. Videojet has a range of inks, including pigmented options, to help achieve exceptional code readability rates. Videojet has proven installations across a wide array of substrates including polypropylene, polyurethanes, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and others. Ultra-high Speed (UHS) printers are ideal for fast-moving production lines that require high resolution codes, including DataMatrix, in small print areas.

Laser Marking

Videojet CO2 and fiber lasers can create permanent marks on interior buttons and switches, both for markings to indicate the function of the button or switch as well as for part tracking and identification codes. Attractive marks can be created with laser printing by removing an outer material to expose inner layers, including for backlit controls. Our lasers can mark a wide range of materials and have virtually no wear parts, resulting in greater uptime and low operating costs.

Glass

Laser Marking

Videojet CO2 laser printers provide the ability to create codes and branding information on windshields, lenses, and other glass components. Clean, high contrast marks convey a modern brand image and can be discreetly applied so as to provide legibility for identification purposes while not distracting from the otherwise clear component. Videojet Code Assurance solutions help take the guesswork out of code selection for your operators, which can be especially important in glass production environments producing many different parts for multiple customers.

Laser Marking

Fiber laser marking is an ideal solution for structural applications where codes are marked directly onto metal frames and body components. Videojet fiber lasers can create permanent codes to withstand automotive operating conditions on materials such as steel, aluminum, and iron. Higher powered, faster options can be ideal when a combination of machine- and human-readable codes must be applied without slowing down production.

Continuous Inkjet

CIJ technology can be an ideal solution for chassis and body applications where structural integrity is a concern or where removable codes are desired, as ink codes are printed only on the surface of the part or structure. Videojet has CIJ inks that can meet a range of performance requirements, including fast-drying, oil penetrating, and solvent and chemical-resistant. Invisible UV fluorescing inks can enable discrete coding that is visible only under UV lighting.

Sensors and small motors

Continuous Inkjet

Videojet CIJ printers can provide the flexibility and reliability needed to create identifying and tracking marks on small auto parts and assemblies. Videojet High Resolution (HR) models can be an ideal solution where small part sizes and limited available areas for printing are a concern. HR CIJ printers utilize smaller printhead nozzles and higher nozzle frequencies to enable printing of multiple lines of text, 2D or linear bar codes, and even graphics in confined spaces. All Videojet CIJ models are designed for maximum uptime and best-in-class print quality.

Laser Marking

Laser printers can produce clean, consistent, high quality codes in large or small spaces and can be an ideal option where customer specifications require permanent codes. Videojet has the largest laser marking fields in the industry, which can enable the marking of multiple parts without the need to reorient the laser or the components. Our CO2¬ and fiber lasers include multiple wavelength options to create high contrast marks on a variety of materials.

Fuel and fluid lines

Laser Marking

Laser printers are an ideal match for many automotive extrusion manufacturers because they contain very few wear parts. This helps manufacturers produce clear, readable and permanent codes while avoiding costly downtime in the hot, wet, and/or dusty environments of fuel and fluid line production. Laser printers can also offer higher-contrast printing for difficult applications on dark-colored products.

Continuous Inkjet

Uptime is critical for extruded fluid line manufacturers, where line stoppages or wasted product costs can easily run into the thousands of dollars. Videojet offers CIJ solutions that can help keep your lines moving even in high temperatures and wet and/or dusty conditions, including IP65-rated versions. We can help address your unique coding needs with anti-clog printheads and inks designed for maximum code adherence and durability in the most demanding applications.
